A supplier's recommendation on the case in front of you

Send a case to a supplier — a manufacturer or a wholesaler — and they write back with what they recommend. It costs you nothing, and the case and the reply stay together in Librevet.

Not open yet — we are signing up the first suppliers now. Everything below is how it works once it opens.

How it works

1

Pick a supplier

Librevet lists the suppliers that take cases from your country. One that takes cases from its own customers only asks for your account number with it.

2

Send the case

Ask your question and send the case as it stands, with the films and the plan you have already drawn on them.

3

Read the recommendation

They write back with what they would use — the implants and sizes, or the products and doses — on the case, where you can ask them something back.

Asking a supplier about a case, on the case's Send page: two suppliers to choose from, the question to them, and a ticked box hiding the owner's details, saying the supplier sees the practice, the animal and its clinical record and the films and videos with the plan on them, with the line that a supplier's advice is not independent.
Who you are asking, what you want to know, and what they will see — on one screen, before you send.

What comes back

A recommendation in their own words, and the products to go with it — the implants and sizes, or the products and doses — on the case you sent.

Every case you have sent is listed under Industry Recommendations in your gallery, with whether it has been answered. Ask them something back underneath, and the whole conversation stays with the case.

The Industry Recommendations page in the gallery: the suppliers who take cases from the vet's country, and a case sent to one of them, answered with a recommendation, the implants and sizes, a note, and questions and replies underneath.

What to keep in mind

The people who make a product often know it best. They also sell it.

Not independent

A supplier’s advice is not independent: they sell what they recommend. Read it the way you would read a technical adviser’s.

Your decision

It is advice on the material you send, not an examination. The animal, the decision and the plan stay yours.

The owner stays private

The owner’s details are hidden unless you choose to send them. The supplier always sees which practice is asking, and the animal’s clinical record.

Questions

Does it cost anything?
No. Industry Recommendations are free for vets on every plan, Free included.
What does the supplier see?
Your practice, the animal and its clinical record, and the films and videos with your plan on them. The owner’s details are hidden, and the attachments go only if you tick “Send the attachments too”. We cannot strip a name from typed notes, a video, or text burned into the corner of the film: check them before you send. Untick “Hide the owner’s details” and they see the whole case, with its attachments.
Is it the same as a specialist opinion?
No. A supplier’s advice is not independent: they sell what they recommend. A specialist opinion is an independent colleague’s view, paid per case, and not open yet.
What if no supplier is listed?
Then nobody takes cases from your country yet, and Librevet says so rather than showing you an empty list.
