Frequently asked questions
Is Librevet Ortho 2D really free?
Yes. The whole planning toolset is free to use, with no time limit and no credit card. It is not a trial and it is not a cut-down version — a vet on the free tier plans the same TPLO, with the same templates, as a referral hospital does.
What is the difference between the rendered film and the original DICOM?
When a radiograph arrives, Librevet renders a greyscale image to plan on — around 1.5 MB. The original DICOM it came from is 8-30 MB. Free keeps the film you plan on; Pro keeps the original as well, permanently, which is what a practice needs if Librevet is holding its imaging record rather than sitting beside it.
Why is 1 GB the free allowance?
That is roughly 680 rendered films — years of planning for one vet, and deliberately not enough to run a clinic's imaging on. If Free were sized for a practice it would be the product, and there would be nothing to build a business on.
Will my free account be downgraded later?
We have no plans to take anything away from it. The paid tiers are built to add capacity and capability on top of Free rather than to carve pieces out of it, and if that ever has to change we would tell free users well in advance rather than spring it on them.
What exactly is a practice account?
One account for the clinic, not a licence each. Everybody signs in as themselves — the surgeon, the locum, the nurse who takes most of the radiographs — and they all work from the same library of cases. One person is the owner, and they and any managers they appoint administer it: they add and remove colleagues, decide who can delete a case, and hold the subscription. A case belongs to the practice rather than to whoever took the film, so nothing walks out of the door when somebody leaves, and a locum sees the patient's history on their first day.
How many people can be on one account?
Up to 50 on Pro and up to 100 on Specialist, counting the owner. Those are backstops rather than walls — the largest first-opinion practices are well under fifty sign-ins. If you are near either number, talk to us before you get there and we will sort something out; nobody already on the account ever loses access because of the limit.
Can one person be in two practices?
No — one account belongs to one practice. A vet who works at two clinics uses the account of the one they are working at, or the referral links, which let a colleague at another practice see a single case without either of you joining anything.
Do I need a subscription to send a case to a specialist?
No. Specialist opinions are paid per case, from any tier including Free, and there is nothing to sign up to.
What about Librevet Ortho 3D?
Ortho 3D is in development and there is nothing to try yet. Access and pricing will be announced closer to the time — get in touch if you would like to help shape it.
How do I get Pro or Specialist?
Talk to us. We are setting practices up by hand at the moment, which also means we can size the storage to what you actually have rather than to a table.
Not sure which one you are?
Tell us how much imaging you do and who needs to see it, and we will tell you.
