Where do I find Settings?
Click your picture or initials in the top right to open the account menu, then Settings. The dialog lists its tabs down the left: General holds appearance, security and your planning defaults, Shortcuts holds the mouse and the keyboard, and Imaging and Specialist work have articles of their own, linked below. On a phone the list lies down into a grid of tabs across the top.
Do my settings follow me to another computer?
No. Everything in this dialog is remembered on the computer and browser you set it on, not on your account — the theme, the text size, how long a sign-in lasts, your planning defaults, the mouse buttons and the scroll behaviour. Set them again on a second machine.
That is deliberate for the ones that describe the machine rather than you: the shared console in the prep room can ask for a sign-in every day while your own laptop asks every month, and those are the same person.
Two-factor sign-in is the exception — it is part of your account, so it applies wherever you sign in.
How do I change the theme or the text size?
General → Appearance holds Theme (Dark or Light) and Text size (Default, Large or Larger). Both are already answered in Frequently asked questions — see its Appearance section.
How long do I stay signed in?
General → Security → Sign in again offers Daily, Weekly and Monthly. Weekly is what the app starts on.
The setting is described in the dialog as this device only, so a shared console in the prep room can be set to Daily without shortening the sign-in on your own laptop.
You are never signed out mid-session. The renewal is asked when you next open Librevet, not while you are working — so nothing can log you out over a half-placed osteotomy. There is no “never”: the longest setting is a month.
Can I use an authenticator app?
Yes. General → Security → Two-factor sign-in, described in the dialog as optional. An authenticator app on your phone produces a six-digit code, asked for alongside your password — it works with no signal, which a text message does not.
Press Set up and Librevet shows a setup key to copy into the app, then asks for the code the app shows. Nothing changes on your account until that code is accepted. Once it is on, the row reads On and offers Turn off.
How do I set the size of my calibration markers?
General → Planning Defaults → Your Calibration Markers has two boxes, in millimetres:
- Circle — the ball or other round marker you use. Starts at 25 mm.
- Line — the ruler or other linear marker. Starts at 50 mm.
The dialog describes these as what your own markers measure: they are offered on upload, when the app checks a new radiograph for a marker, and are still correctable film by film in the calibration panel. A radiograph can show that a marker is round and how many pixels across it is; it cannot show whether those pixels are 25 mm or 10 mm, which is why you state it here once.
Setting the scale on a film also updates the figure here, and the shape decides which of the two boxes moves: a ball updates Circle, a hand-drawn line updates Line. See Calibrating radiographs.
How do I change the default blade size?
General → Planning Defaults → Default Blade Size, a list of saw radii in millimetres: 8, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20, 21, 24, 27, 30 and 33. It starts at 21 mm.
It is the blade a new TPLO arc opens at, so it takes effect on the next arc you place, not on one already on a film. A placed arc is resized by selecting it and using the same slider. The dialog notes that it is also settable on the armed TPLO tool — pick it there, before you place the arc, and Settings shows the same figure afterwards.
How do I change the default target TPA?
General → Planning Defaults → Default Target TPA, in degrees. The dialog describes it as the standard TPA for new automatic TPLO plans, and it starts at 5°.
It is a starting figure for the box, not a recommendation: it seeds the target on a new plan, and on any one plan you type the target you want, which is what that plan then uses. Changing it here leaves plans you have already made alone. See TPLO planning workflow.
Can I change the mouse buttons?
Yes. Shortcuts → Mouse and trackpad has a row for each of Left-button drag, Middle-button drag and Right-button drag, and each can be set to Move film, Zoom, Brightness / contrast or Turn film.
The notes beside the rows are worth reading: a left-button drag is about empty film, and a measurement or implant you grab still moves normally; a short right-click still cancels the tool you are placing; and a trackpad or Magic Mouse has no middle button at all, so on those machines Option / Alt + left-drag and the toolbar dial are the routes to whatever the middle button is set to.
Scroll sits in the same section and decides what a mouse wheel or a two-finger trackpad scroll does — Auto, Zoom or Move. Pinching always zooms, whichever you choose.

What does Medical viewer layout do?
It is the second of the two buttons at the top right of Shortcuts → Mouse and trackpad, and it is the layout a Horos or OHIF user’s hands already know: brightness and contrast on the left button, move the film on the middle button, zoom on the right. It also sets Scroll to Zoom.
How do I put the mouse and scroll settings back?
Restore defaults, beside it. That is left button moves the film, middle button turns it, right button is brightness and contrast, and Scroll set to Zoom.
Can I change the redo shortcut?
Shortcuts → Keyboard → Redo offers Y, Shift + Z or Either. Both chords work out of the box — Ctrl / Cmd + Y as in most software, and Shift + Z as in Mac apps — so narrow it here only if one of them clashes with something else you use. Undo is always Ctrl / Cmd + Z and cannot be changed.
The rest of that tab is a reference list of every key the app listens for; it is the same list as Keyboard shortcuts.
Do shortcuts fire while I am typing?
No. The dialog says so at the top of the Shortcuts tab: shortcuts are ignored while you are typing.
Where do I set up my X-ray equipment?

How do I apply to answer other vets’ cases?
The Specialist work tab. See Specialist opinions.
Where are my account, my practice and my plan?
Not in Settings. They are separate rows of the same account menu — Account, Your plan and Your practice — because they are records of who you are, who you work with and what you pay, while Settings is preferences. Your plan is shown to a vet on Free and to a practice’s owner and managers.
